Access by Design win an award for Product Innovation!
We were simply delighted to receive the Product Innovation Award last Friday at the Observer Business Awards, held at the Hilton Avisford Park Hotel, Arundel. As always, the competition was strong and it was wonderful to be recognised for our main product: Responsive Accessible Website Design!
The category was sponsored by Spofforths of Chichester and Ian Burrows can be seen on the left of the photo, presenting the award to Clive and his daughter Winter.
Clive Loseby, Access by Design's Managing Director, dedicated the Award to his wife Jess. Her in-depth knowledge of Accessible Website Design led to the founding principle of our company:
To build websites that work equally well for everyone, regardless of their ability or disability.
Jess, an award-winning digital artist with a flair for contemporary design, set out to prove that it was possible to have websites that look modern and were innovative, whilst also being accessible for everyone. In 2011, a growth in the use of tablets and mobiles, led to the dawn of Responsive Design techniques. We were one of the first companies in the UK to adopt this and the only company in the world to have combined it with Accessible Design techniques, creating websites that truly meet the needs of everyone, whether they were blind (using a screen reader), on a mobile device or anything else!
Every website we build has over 70 checks applied to it before launch and we are proud of the fact that our websites are equally comfortable with the latest browsers and devices as well as the oldest ones such as Internet Explorer 7, which is now 9 years old!
This side of our work isn't glamorous but it is something that we do with every website we build because we want our websites to be built to last! Our clients expect high standards from us and that is something we strive to achieve every time.
