Managed Website Hosting For Our Clients

Website hosting is not something every client wants to think about. Most people simply want their website to work properly, stay secure, load reliably and be looked after by people who understand how it was built.

That is why we offer managed website hosting for our own clients.

We do not sell hosting as a standalone service. We are not trying to compete with large hosting companies or cheap hosting packages. Our hosting is designed for clients whose websites we have built and continue to manage.

Hosting with us is optional. We can build your website and hand it over to your chosen hosting provider if that is the right option for you.

However, ongoing managed support and maintenance are only available for websites hosted with us.

This keeps responsibility clear. If we host the website, we can manage the environment, updates, backups and support properly. If the website is hosted elsewhere, the hosting provider remains responsible for the hosting environment.

Hosting Is Optional

For most bespoke website projects, hosting with us is optional. We can build your website and hand it over to your chosen provider if that is the right option for you.

If you already have a hosting company you are happy with, we can build your website and hand it over to your chosen provider. If your organisation has its own IT team, preferred supplier or existing website infrastructure, we can work with that arrangement where appropriate.

We do not believe in locking clients into services they do not need.

Our role is to give clear advice and help you choose the setup that makes most sense for your website, your team and your long term needs.

In some cases, staying with an existing host is perfectly sensible. In other cases, moving the website to our managed hosting gives you a simpler and more joined up service.

The important point is choice. You can host your website elsewhere, or you can ask us to host and manage it for you.

The only exception is our template-based website service. Those websites are provided as part of our managed platform, so they need to be hosted with us. This allows us to keep the setup consistent, reliable and easier to support.

Managed Support And Maintenance

Our managed support and maintenance service is only available for websites hosted with us.

This is important because proper support depends on having direct access to the hosting environment. We need to be able to manage the server setup, software versions, SSL certificate, backups, security settings and technical configuration.

If a website is hosted elsewhere, we do not control those things.

We can still build an accessible website for you and provide clear handover guidance. We can also work with your chosen hosting provider during the build where needed.

After launch, ongoing managed support and maintenance are only available when the website is hosted on our own managed hosting platform.

This protects everyone.

It means you know exactly what we are responsible for. It also means we are not trying to maintain a website inside an environment controlled by another provider.

Why Clients Choose To Host With Us

Many clients choose to host with us because it keeps everything simpler.

The same team that builds the website can also host it, maintain it, update it and support it. That means fewer people involved, fewer technical gaps and fewer delays when something needs attention.

When a website is hosted elsewhere, responsibility can become unclear. A problem may sit with the hosting provider, the website setup, the domain, the SSL certificate, the server configuration or the website code.

When the website is hosted with us, we can manage the whole environment directly.

This allows us to provide proper maintenance and support, rather than trying to diagnose issues inside a system we do not control.

This is especially helpful for clients who do not want to manage technical hosting tasks themselves. They can focus on their organisation while we look after the website infrastructure behind the scenes.

UK-Based Hosting

Our hosting runs on our own VMware server environment, hosted through Fastnet.

Fastnet has data centres in Brighton and London, giving us a strong UK based hosting setup for the websites we manage.

This matters because hosting should not be vague or distant. Clients should know where their website is being hosted, who is responsible for it and how support is managed.

We keep the public explanation simple because most clients do not need deep technical server details. What matters is that the hosting is professionally managed, properly supported and suitable for the websites we build.

Our setup gives us the control we need to support client websites properly, without depending on cheap shared hosting that may not be suitable for long-term reliability.

Website Updates And Backups

A website needs more than hosting space.

It also needs maintenance, updates and regular checks. This is especially important for WordPress websites, where themes, plugins and core software need to stay up to date.

When a website is hosted with us, our managed service can include practical support such as WordPress updates, plugin updates, SSL certificate management, backups, uptime monitoring and help when technical issues arise.

This reduces risk and helps avoid the common problem where a website is launched, then gradually becomes outdated or vulnerable because nobody is looking after it.

A website should not be treated as a one-time project that is forgotten after launch. It is a working business asset and it needs proper care.

A More Joined-Up Website Service

When we host and maintain a website, we can provide a more joined up service.

We understand how the website was built. We know the structure, the design decisions, the accessibility requirements and the technical setup. That means we are not coming in cold when support is needed.

This can make a real difference when small changes, updates or fixes are required.

It also means there is one clear point of contact. Clients do not have to work out whether an issue belongs with the web designer, the developer, the hosting company or the domain provider.

They can simply contact us and we can look at the problem.

That clarity is valuable, especially for organisations that do not have in-house technical support.

What Our Hosting Is For

Our hosting is for clients whose websites we have built and actively maintain.

We do not provide general hosting for websites created by other companies. This is intentional.

By keeping our hosting focused on our own clients, we can provide a better service. We know the websites, we understand the codebase, and we can maintain quality control over the environment.

This also allows us to avoid the problems that often come with unmanaged hosting, where multiple unknown websites, plugins and technical setups create unnecessary risk.

Our hosting is not the cheapest option, and it is not meant to be.

It is for clients who want their website looked after properly by the same team responsible for building and supporting it.

What Happens If You Already Have Hosting?

If you already have hosting, we can review it as part of the website planning process.

Sometimes your current hosting will be suitable for the website build. Sometimes it may create limitations that affect performance, reliability or future management.

We will give an honest view.

If your current setup is working well, there may be no reason to move. We can build the website and hand it over to your chosen provider.

However, if you want us to provide ongoing managed support and maintenance after launch, the website will need to be hosted with us.

This keeps responsibility clear.

Your existing provider remains responsible for websites hosted with them. We remain responsible for the websites we host and manage.

That clarity protects everyone and helps avoid confusion when support is needed.

Talk To Us About The Best Option

Hosting should support your website, not complicate it.

If we are building your website, we can talk through the hosting options with you and explain the practical differences.

You can choose to host the website with your existing provider, or you can ask us to manage the hosting, maintenance and support for you.

Our aim is simple.

We want your website to stay secure, reliable, well maintained and easy to support.

If you would like to talk about a new website or an existing website that needs better support, please contact us and we can help you choose the best way forward.
