Website Design & Development
Your website is more than a digital brochure. It must reach the widest audience possible and pass key standards. We design bespoke websites that not only look beautiful, but also test website accessibility thoroughly and align with WCAG 2.2 from the start.
Your Website Should Do More Than a Brochure
A printed brochure may catch your eye in a waiting room, but it often gets a brief glance and is then forgotten. The same can happen with a poorly built website. If it does not load quickly, display clearly, or communicate instantly, it will be left behind.
A brochure website sits online 24/7, ready to be “picked up” by a search engine. For it to be seen and visited, it must be well structured, well written, and well coded. First impressions matter — especially to Google.
Design to Be Found, Then Test Website Accessibility
Getting people to your website is only the first step. Search engines reward sites that are clean, fast, and accessible. That means building it right from the ground up. Once the technical build is complete, we test website accessibility to ensure your site supports every visitor — not just the majority.
Websites outperform brochures in many ways. They can be updated frequently, reflect your brand in real time, and adapt to any screen size. We make sure your site looks just as good on a mobile phone as it does on a desktop monitor.
Test Website Accessibility for All Visitors
Every site we build goes through over 80 quality checks. These include checks on different browsers, screen sizes, mobile devices, and assistive technologies. We also give users the ability to change text size and colour contrast — an essential option for many neurodivergent people.
Visitors with ADHD, dyslexia or dyspraxia may struggle with specific colour combinations. By offering multiple contrast modes, we help remove barriers before they become problems.
We also use disabled testers to validate the real-world experience of using your website. Learn more about how we test on our manual testing team page.
The Design and Development Process
Every bespoke website starts with a detailed design brief. Polly, our brilliant designer, works with you to create a concept you can fall in love with. Once approved, our developers build it, add your content, and test everything thoroughly.
After you sign off, we run our full checklist of over 80 internal tests, followed by accessibility testing, and finally we notify search engines that your site is live. But your site is never really “finished”. Without regular updates, it will drop in rankings. We are happy to maintain it for you — just ask!
WCAG 2.2 Accessibility, Without the Stress
Our websites are built to meet the latest WCAG 2.2 guidelines. We make sure your content is easy to navigate, compatible with screen readers, and meets all colour contrast and click target size requirements.
You do not need to worry about the technical side — we handle all of it. Sonia, our fantastic account manager, ensures you feel supported throughout the process. She is passionate about helping our clients feel confident and cared for.
