A test that anyone can do!<\/h2>\n

Would you like a quick way to find out if the website you are on is accessible to disabled people?<\/p>\n

Let me tell you about The Tab Test!<\/p>\n

This is so easy that anyone can do it, on any website!<\/p>\n

Website accessibility is a complicated subject, it is very technical and it is easy to get lost in the jargon. It is important to not get too distracted by that. Fundamentally it is straightforward.<\/p>\n

Most of us, including myself, use a keyboard and a mouse. We can also see the screen, so accessing a website is something that we just do automatically, without thinking about it. We visit websites to find out things, buy things and download things.<\/p>\n

However, if you are unable to use any or all of these things, you still want to visit websites and find out things, buy things and download things.<\/p>\n

Websites could all be accessible if they followed the rules<\/h2>\n

If websites are built to the standards that have been available since as far back as 1999, everyone will be able to do these things.<\/p>\n

The problem is that 97.4% out of 1 million websites tested last year, failed basic accessibility tests.<\/p>\n

What are these tests? How can you know if the website you are on is accessible to disabled people?<\/p>\n

Well, one very simple way is to try the Tab Test. This is something that anyone can do, on any website.<\/p>\n
